I agreed with you. IT guys from MM should go to Opensource. Ruby is getting hot in U.S now. Both Sun and Microsoft are interested in Ruby. You should also try it. ROR is very easy to use. Another thing is you should also try Linux if you want to go PHP. CentOS is good for server and Ubuntu is good for Desktop.Try anyone u like. If you install every packages in CentOS, u don't need to configure anything for PHP and MYSQL. If you like to go PHP, try Linux rather than using pirated Windows. You can use Webmin.com to configure the Linux if you are not familar with linux commands.
